Today my sweet grand daughter turned 10. I didn't get to see her when she was born like I did the older two girls. But I think from the minute she was born, she felt like she was as old as her sisters and could do anything they could do. She is not afraid of much and is always loving and kind. She is an animal whisperer, she loves them all and has just about become a vegetarian because she can't stomach eating those sweet animals. She always makes sure everyone around her has something to be having fun with, eating, and is happy to do so. She gives the BEST HUGS ever and she doesn't stop holding on. She is so sweet and I far more than grateful
She has participated in many races with me. The very first time she did the July 24th 5k race in Utah, I think she was just 3 or 4 years old. She was such a trooper and she didn't complain once. She loved that we got to walk in the road and that the cars didn't get to drive on it. She loved seeing the police officers. When we got to the end of the race where we could see the finish line balloons, she said, in her sweet little voice, "bamma, my legs need a nap". It was so sweet. Then we finished and she got her medal and her eyes were so big and she was just so happy. She saw all the food treats and enjoyed the ice cream bars, the drinks, the sandwiches, the cookies and just all of it. She seemingly quickly forgot that her legs needed a nap. I was one happy grandma that day to have the three grand children race with me. They were all just great. We have run that race every year since (except when covid was here).
This girl loves to write on EVERYTHING. Especially herself. To this day she will come over with marker all over her arms and legs.
She loves her brothers, but I do recall that she was a little jealous when Jaxon was brought home for the hospital. She still wanted to be the baby I think.
She loves her Aunt Aumbur. They laugh and talk and play games and it is fun to watch them. The only time that I can think of that she may not have liked her as much as other times is---
In this picture. Ambur had gotten socks for all the kids for a Christmas present. Everyone loved them except Tessa. She opened them, spit on them, dropped them on the floor emphatically folded her arms and stormed off. It was a little shocking for all of us. Sara helped her come around and out she came with her socks on--her face doesn't look all that happy, but at least she is wearing the socks. Who knows what that precious girl wanted instead of the socks, but what a great memory.
This girl loves Gimlet and Gimlet loves her. They have been found lying by each other or sometimes with Tessa laying her head on Gimlet and be sound asleep more than once.
When Walgreens had a big 75% sale on photo items after Christmas, I got this blanket for her birthday. I had no idea how it was going to look and I think it actually scared her a little, but it was warm and cuddly.
I am blessed to be the Grandma of this sweet wonderful, girl. I could be around her 24/7 and not get enough of her smiles and love she so freely gives.
On this tenth birthday, I feel nothing but gratitude for her and I am thankful for her in my life and can't imagine it without her.
