It is that time of year again. I love July 24th. Happy Birthday to Utah. It is a bit different this year since it will be just Ambur and I. I invited Blaine and family after last years so they would have plenty of time to make the plans, but they are still very upset with me so we didn't even discuss it.
Ambur and I headed out and we decided to try to do it in less than an hour. It isn't that this race is the greatest race, but I love the ambiance and the people all around and I am just happy when I am there.
Ambur ended up beating me (she is faster always) but we got it in less than an hour and that was our goal. I had so much fun. At one point this little kid was squirting me with some refreshing water and as I thanked him he hollered out at me, "you have fun Grandma but don't die it is a lot of work!" Out of the mouths of babes. This is a tradition that I hope I don't have to give up any time soon. I love it.
I sure do love that Ambur goes with me to these crazy things I love so much. She is a trooper and I wouldn't be able to do them without her. Gimme didn't get the usual attention this time, but she also just moves along and she is great to have with us.
It was a great time and I loved it. Maybe next year Blaine and family will go with us. That would be so much fun. I can no longer afford to pay for the races for everyone but I sure have great memories. I am always so blessed and I am ever grateful for my testimony of the gospel.
